Technically I don't think any or many of yall are teenagers anymore, but John Scalzi always has good writing advice:

My brain is circumventing the normal editing process...I find myself listening to myself AS I say things...and AFTER I say things rather than BEFORE. One of the symptoms of this phenomenon brought about by utter lack of down time and sleep is a recurrent malaprop of mine...well not REALLY a malaprop but a sort of one.

con·sump·tive (kn-smptv)
adj.
1. Consuming or tending to consume.
2. Of, relating to, or afflicted with consumption.
n.
A person afflicted with consumption.

I have been using the word in the adj 1 sense, but everytime I say it...after I say it I keep having the image of someone dying of TB pop into my head.. and I think it is a better sounding word than "consuming" which also has alternate connotation... or some weird hybrid phrase like "consumer-based action"

I keep thinking that I can't write when I'm this spent...I can't be creative...I will only write sucky things... but you know...because that inner critic is distracted, I'm actually producing quite a bit...or sure it is beyond rough, but lots of fodder. Something to be said about getting your butt in the chair.
